Welcome to backstagecrafts! Here you'll find a myriad of objects conceived of and created while I write lyrics in my head, memorize lines or wait for my turn onstage. In other words, this is what I do while waiting for my cue. I started bringing a ball of yarn and a crochet hook with me to pass the time at rehearsals (hence all the hats), but lately I've been developing green home decor and accessory items as the piles of recyclable materials in my design space pile up. Admittedly, it doesn't all happen backstage anymore, but be assured I'm probably writing my next tune as I bead, braid or drill my way through the next design.JUST IN (12/8/09): I've just introduced a new handbag design made of old vinyl 45s and recycled sari silk yarn - check 'em out under "Handbags." In the coming weeks and months I'll be adding beaded handags made of recycled jeans, picture frames embellished with wine cork patterns and more. Sign up to receive email notices when all this happens - or just check back often!
